Amazing experience and atmosphere! We went on Valentine’s Day and it was so special! The food was amazing and the service was incredible. Recommend the duck confit tacos, chile relleno and the beef shirt rib.. so delicious

Excellent food and service. All the dishes were tasty. The place a little bit far from the center, but worth it. The decoration very cozy. I loved the beef rib and the tongue. Delightful modern mexican food.

Wonderful, high-quality meal. Felt like a Michelin star experience and the environment was beautiful. Location was also great, outside the city center and in a good neighborhood. Monse was really helpful in helping us book the reservation and gave us recommendations to make the experience special!

This restaurant is a great spot for special occasions. The space is charming and intimate. The food is delicious and made with local and seasonal ingredients. They offer some vegetarian and vegan options.

In my 15 years of living and dining out in Guanajuato, Casa Mercedes has always stood out as, hands down, the best restaurant in town (even if it is in an out-of-the way but nice residential neighborhood). All the dishes I have tried have been excellent, not only the main courses but also the appetizers. The pork shank (chamorro) is the house specialty. Casa Mercedes also offers an excellent selection of wines from Mexico and abroad. Finally, I've always found the servers there to be extremely professional. My family and I recently had a great experience with Said, a friendly and knowledgeable waiter who recommended a great local wine to go with our meal.

Beautiful space, wonderful service and wine selection and the best elevated traditional Mexican cuisine I have had the pleasure of eating. The Beef Tongue with Pecan Mole was extraordinary! Hands down the best restaurant in Guanajuato.

Casa Mercedes is a great stop for dinner in Guanajuato. The atmosphere is cozy and warm — perfect for a relaxed evening. We were a party of six, and while the space may seem small at first glance, it felt comfortable and welcoming for our group. The portions are just right for a full, satisfying meal. The food features bold, rich flavors — especially the meats and sauces, which some in our group absolutely loved. Others who ordered the dish of the day found it a bit underwhelming in comparison, so it seems consistency may vary slightly depending on the order. Still, the overall experience was very enjoyable, with thoughtful service and a charming setting. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a refined and flavorful dinner in town.

Excellent food based on Mexican traditions but with interesting twists, and beautiful presentation. The owner is very friendly and recommended a few dishes, all of which were great. Of particular note were the starters even more so than the mains. And among those, the peppers stuffed with lamb meat were the best. Also the place has a great view over Guanajuato.
